The need for instruction that pertain to Industrial Designers needs lurks around every corner these days. So I started to write my own little book. So far I have only got to the initial chapter on the The Daily Stuff. The second chapter Make-A-Mouse will be much more useful; if I ever get around to writing it. The notes are here, but I have to do a lot of screen captures and build it myself a few tiems to work it all out.
During my second term as assistant instructor for the Solid Modeling class as ArtCenter, I made this mouse using SolidWorks. I like the sides, but I think that the buttons are kinda boring. The clear plastic rendering is a bit distorted, perhaps I can mess with SoldiWorks settings to get it to look a bit more real.

I decided to remake the skin for one of them Logitech Cordless Mouses for the Mac. I am still waiting to get it made via rapid prototyping; I have been too busy to stop by the lab and push it through the machine.
